Cinderella Project Prom Dress Giveaway

The UL Lafayette AmeriCorps Community Service Program is making plans for the 10th Annual Cinderella Project Dress Giveaway. This event is to support young girls in Acadiana and surrounding parishes, who are junior and seniors in high school to attend prom. We accept community donations of new and gently used prom dresses, shoes, and accessories to give to them at no cost. Our goal is to provide educational outreach and community-based projects that are designed to build confidence an self-esteem for young girls.

This event will take place Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 9am - 1pm at the Blackham Coliseum. Our goal of the project is to promote recycling as well as to ensure that each and every junior or senior girl has an opportunity to go to their prom. Due to the financial strain prom can place on parents, this service will be offered for free as long as the student has a current school ID.
