UL Lafayette AmeriCorps
Position Descriptions 2024-2025

300 hour member (Part-time)

  • Must complete 300 hours of service in 9 months
  • Serve with service sites Monday-Saturday
  • Attend all mandatory events, trainings, and team meetings (with possible weekend events)
  • Develop teamwork and leadership skills
  • Receive FREE training on CPR/First Aid, Diversity, Project Management, Resume Writing, and Public Speaking
  • Receive a modest monthly living allowance of $225 (before taxes)
  • Earn a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award worth over $1300

450 hour member (Quarter-time)

This member will complete all of the expectations of a 300 hour member, plus:

  • Must be workstudy eligible
  • Serve an additional 150 hours of service in 9 months
  • Have an active leadership role on service sites, campus, and in the community
  • Participate in recruitment on campus
  • Receive a modest monthly living allowance of $325 (before taxes)
  • Earn a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award worth over $1600

AmeriCorps is a 9 month commitment, or 2 academic semesters, starting in the Fall semester and ending in May of the Spring semester. All students must be enrolled at least 6 credit hours for BOTH Fall and Spring semesters to qualify for enrollment in UL Lafayette AmeriCorps.
You must submit your FAFSA to be eligible for financial aid.
The next step in the interview process is an individual interview (30 minutes). Once we receive your application a staff member will get in touch with you with interview times to choose from. You will also receive a list of documents needed for your interview. Interviews will be held from 9am-4pm each day.
